Schedule a certification exam
Once an applicant has been approved to complete the exam, he or she will be contacted by PSI with information to schedule the exam. The notice will contain a toll-free telephone number and website for the candidate to schedule an exam appointment as soon as two business days later. PSI will collect the $69 exam sitting fee during the scheduling process.
The exam must be completed within a 180 day eligibility period from PSI notification and the exam may be attempted as often as every 30 days during this period.
Once approved to take the exam, you may schedule an exam appointment over the phone. Please have your credit card available for payment of exam fees and call during operating hours:
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 9:00pm CST
Friday - Saturday: 8:30am - 5:00pm CST
A candidate will forfeit an exam registration and all fees paid under the following circumstances:
Fail to report for an exam appointment
Appear more than 15 minutes late for an exam
Reschedule for a second time
If candidate reschedules less than two business days prior to the scheduled appointment.
In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen emergencies on the day of an exam, PSI will determine if circumstances warrant the cancellation and rescheduling of an exam. Every attempt is made to administer exams as scheduled; however, should an exam be canceled, all candidates will be notified regarding rescheduling. Visit the PSI website prior to the exam to see if PSI has closed any testing centers.
If power is temporarily interrupted during an exam, the exam will be restarted. Responses provided up to the point of interruption will be saved, but for security, the questions will be scrambled.
PSI complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and strives to ensure no individual with disability as defined by the ADA is deprived of the opportunity to take the exam solely by reason of that disability. Reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities will be provided.
Candidates requesting special accommodations must call PSI to schedule their exam. Verification of the disability and a statement of the specific type of assistance needed must be made in writing to PSI at least 45 calendar days prior to exam date.
PSI administration and security standards are designed to ensure all candidates are provided the same opportunity to demonstrate abilities. The Assessment Center is continuously monitored by audio and video surveillance equipment for security purposes.
