Good morning, I heard about the Professional Operator certification a little over a year ago, and I finally decided to research it a bit more. I am still undecided about whether it has any significant professional value as I am the proverbial "old-timer." I have been a water & wastewater operator for over 29 years and have been Superintendent (Operator-in-charge) for 24 years. Since most likely this is the position I retire from, I will not need the PO for advancement opportunities. I am curious if there are any others in my situation and why they did or didn't they decide on PO certification. I love my "accidental" career choice and am proud of the work I (and my staff) do every day💧.
