
PROFESSIONAL OPERATOR RECERTIFICATION
Recertification criteria
Recertification is a mandatory process that provides assurance that a certificant is actively maintaining his or her knowledge and skills. This process must be completed before the end of every 2-year certification cycle. The first recertification cycle begins on the date of initial certification, and expires two years after that initial date the certification. The initial certification date and expiration date are printed on the PO certificate.
ELIGIBILITY FOR RECERTIFICATION

Reaffirm adherence to the Professional Operator Code of Conduct

Pay all applicable fees through the Professional Operator Portal

Complete and document the required number of approved continuing education contact hours over the course of their two-year certification cycle

CONTINUING EDUCATION
Over the course of the two-year certification cycle, a certificant must complete and submit documentation of the number of contact hours of continuing education required for the class level of his or her certification level
Fifty percent of the continuing education hours submitted for recertification credit may not be applied to any other PO recertification.
CONTACT HOUR EQUIVALENCIES
Post-secondary and continuing education can be converted to contact hours. We understand that many units of post-secondary or continuing education exist and will do everything possible to fairly equate units when reviewing applications and submitted documents.

1 Quarter Course Credit from accredited college
FIFTEEN CONTACT HOUR
1 Semester Course Credit from accredited college


All continuing education submitted for recertification credit must be on approved topics. Recertification credit will not be given for presentations, writing/publishing articles, or teaching courses. Annual meetings, conferences, and workshops that meet approved topic guidelines may be accepted for continuing education credit if a certificate of attendance with contact hours is provided.
